Impatiens Overview

Impatiens often grow into an impenetrable collection of flowers, up to 2 feet (60 cm) in height. The plant is blooming year-round. The color of the flowers range from red, orange, pink to white. The flowers measure about 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) across and have a thin, curving spur.

As soon as the green fruit is ripe, it opens and scatters the seeds. Due to this impulsive habit the flower is also called “touch me not.” Impatiens is native to Africa.
