Lawa'i is a small town about 12 miles (19 km) west of Lihue. There is a restaurant, Lawai Restaurant, which is located near the post office, a church and few shops at the Menehune Food Mart and Lawai General Store.
At the intersection of Koloa Road and Kaumuali'i Highway you will also find Hawaiian Trading Post – a gift shop with a variety of hand-crafted items, T-shirts and a large selection of souvenirs.
Continue driving down on Koloa Road and you can get a good overview of the town and the beautiful green surroundings. Lawa'i is not a major tourist destination and there aren't many accommodation options here, expert for a bed & breakfast and an inn.
