The Grove Farm Homestead Museum is a 100-acre sugar plantation that has the oldest surviving set of plantation buildings, furnishings and orchards in Hawaii.
The Kauai Historical Society (KHS) operates out of the Kauai County Building in Lihue, which is the oldest government facility still operating in Hawaii.
Here you can learn more about Kauai's geology, ecology and climatology. The museum also provides information about trail conditions in the Waimea Canyon and Koke'e state parks.
Take the Plantation Lifestyles Tour through an authentic sugar plantation and the ruins of an old sugar mill. Stroll down the original dirt roads and see the workers' actual homes and personal gardens.
