Pukalani

Pukalani, which means "heavenly gate" or "window to heaven" in Hawaiian, is the largest town in upcountry Maui. Situated on the slopes of Mt. Haleakala at an elevation of 1,526 feet (465 m), Pukalani's temperature is cooler than the temperature in towns located at or near sea level.
While the place evokes a laid-back, country atmosphere, it has a commercial center that includes coffee shops and restaurants, including a Starbucks and Pizza Hut. Pukalani also has community and recreation centers, an 18-hole golf club and sports fields.
